How to Play World Series of Poker

wspThe World Series of Poker is one of the most famous poker tournaments in the world. While you may have seen the final rounds of the WSoP on television at some point or another, not many know that the World Series of Poker is a massive tournament that starts with thousands of players competing against each other to make the final table. It is not recommended that players attempt to participate in the World Series of Poker tournament unless they have a lot of experience with the game, but as long as you have the money to afford the buy-in, you are allowed to register.

There are two ways to register for the tournament. You can visit the Rio Main Casino Cage in Las Vegas and register for the tournament in person. But in-person registration is only open for a couple of days before the tournament begins, which is why most players prefer to register online. When you register online, you do not have to spend hours in line when you arrive in Las Vegas to participate in the tournament. And you can travel of the tournament with the peace of mind that you are registered and 100 percent eligible to play.

How to Register Online

Registering online is not a difficult task. All you have to do is visit the Bravo Poker Live website, which is an encrypted site that handles all of the registration and payment details for the WSoP organization. As you enter all of your details and confirm your registration, you are prompted to make your buy-in payment in three different ways. You can either pay with a debit or credit card, wire transfer or cashier’s check. Depending on the type of WSoP table you want to enter, you are going to have a different buy-in amount to pay. But the buy-ins are at least $1000 for most of the tables. If your buy-in is $1500 or less, you can pay with a debit or credit card.

For those who have to pay more than $1500 to buy into the tournament, you have no option but to pay with a wire transfer or cashier’s check, and you must pay at least 14 days before the tournament begins. It is better to complete the payment details a month before the event begins, because it gives you enough time to reconfirm your payment if there are any problems during the registration process.

If you are determined to participate in the main WSoP tournament, with a chance to reach the final table, you need to pay a $10,000 buy-in. Paying $10,000 to enter a poker tournament may seem like a huge amount of money, but you must remember that the total price pool for the tournament is more than $60 million!

But there are plenty of other WSoP tables too – such as the Colossus II No-Limit Hold’em game, Top Up Turbo No-Limit Hold’em game and the Dealers Choice 6-Handed game. Each of these games have their own buy-ins, and more information on the various games is available at the World Series of Poker website.
